artScapes – August 20th – 16th September

“artScapes” is an exhibition of the works of two artists from the Bellarine, Diane Hodson and Eileen Jenkins, and three artists from Melbourne, Leianne Ivankovic, Gaye Boltong and Stephen Falzon. They have all been painting for many years and have come together for this exhibition to show a variety of works, which range from seascapes to landscapes.

Diane Hodson, who recently moved to the Bellarine area, is very inspired by her new environment. The sea, sand and sunsets have captivated her resulting in sensuous paintings of familiar settings.

Eileen Jenkins from St Leonards lives by the water and walks by it each day. She loves the rhythms in its movement and sound. Acrylics enable her to depict water in all forms both realistically and in abstract form.

Leianne commenced her interest in art by using pastels then explored water colour and now has moved into using acrylic, oil and mixed media.

Gaye Boltong paints in all mediums and her works include images sourced through her extensive travels though Asia and Europe as well as Australian landscapes and seascapes. Gaye also has begun conducting painting trips to Bali.

Stephen Falzon is a traditional artist of the Australian landscape who uses acrylics to captivate the essence of his subject. His colour palette reflects the colours of the Australian bush and mountains.
