A solo show by trans-Tasman painter, Nicki Manthel, explores the formal and feral gardens of Melbourne.

In love with paint and light, Nicki’s work is influenced by the magical abstraction of photography and the expressionist potential of paint.

Her work in this exhibition plays with the idea of gardens of the ‘old world’ planted in a ‘new world’ – and the rather exotic result as both worlds have literally grown together to create a truly original environment.

Often the backdrop to our lives, these glimpses of Melbourne’s gardens, take centre stage in this exhibition.
